Choosing A Better Company

It isn't always easy to know how to make things better, but if you know how to look for problems, you can resolve situations proactively. Although this advice works in many respects, I have found it especially helpful while running my own business. Although I am far from an expert on business, it never ceases to amaze me how difficult running your own company can really be. I wanted to start a website to help others to know how to choose a better company, so I made this blog. Check out these posts for great tips on succeeding in business every day.

Plumbing Problems That Businesses Do Not Want To Have

by Gene Chapman

Operating a business that deals with the public is hard enough but when things go wrong, your day can go downhill fast. Plumbing issues are the last thing most business owners want to have to deal with but calling in a commercial plumber to deal with the issues can make life a little easier. Plumbing services are offered by many small and large plumbing companies, who you choose to use is up to you but make sure you describe the problem when you start making calls so they can be sure to have the tools to handle the job for you.

Backed Up Drains

In any business, a backed up drain can cause huge problems. Whether it is a sink in a public washroom or a drain in the floor of a shop, a drain that is blocked will eventually cause water to back up out of it and cause problems. A drain that is not flowing water should be checked by a plumber and cleared properly. Do not just pour chemicals down the drain trying to break of the blockage because in many cases they do not work and you now have chemically treated water backing up out of the drain. Properly clearing a drain requires a snake or power auger to be run down the drain to break up the material causing the blockage.

Broken or Leaking Pipes

A pipe that has broken or is leaking a significant amount of water into your business, is going to cause damage well beyond the pipe itself. Getting a plumbing service to deal with the pipe is important and in the case of a water leak, an emergency situation. If you can shut off the water while you wait for the plumber, do it right away. If you can't, let them know so they can try and get to you as quickly as possible. For small leaks, placing buckets under the leak may be enough to contain it until the plumber arrives but for more major leaks, you may be advised to leave the building until they can get there and shut off the water. Alternatively, your local fire department may be able to shut the water to the building off for you if you can them and explain the situation.

Cleaning Up The Aftermath

If you have had a lot of water damage in your business, the clean up can be a daunting task but there are contractors that specialize in this kind of work and can help. The plumbing service you are working with may have a cleanup company that they can recommend to you if you ask as well. In some cases, all you need to do is mop up a little water but in extreme cases, damage to walls, ceilings, and floors can be extensive. If you notice a problem with your plumbing, the best solution is to call your plumbing service, like Clearwater Plumbing, right away so they can head off major problems and you can avoid the costly cleanup completely.
